Shades of Gray

Want to know how to have a good ride every time? Learn to see things in “shades of gray”. The key to seeing shades of gray is to recognize when things are “a little bit better”. For example, if a canter depart is a little bit better, or your horse is going a little bit more forward, or you’re sitting the trot a bit better, or your horse was a little less spooky at a show, then you’re making progress. Both you and your horse can finish your ride with a tremendous sense of satisfaction because all those “little bit betters” soon add up to a whole lot better.
