A Winning Attitude Excerpt

I thought you might enjoy another excerpt from my new book, A Winning Attitude.

“You can’t fix a bad hairdo by combing your
reflection in the mirror.” Mike Dooley

Do certain people annoy you? I hate to break this to you, but their irritating traits are merely a reflection of the traits you don’t like in yourself.

Trying to “fix” other people is like looking in the mirror, seeing that you’re having a bad hair day, and trying to fix your hair by combing your reflection!

Instead, figure out what you don’t like about yourself, and work on that.

“We don’t see things as they are. We see them as we are.”
Anais Nin

“Be the change you wish to see in the world.” Mahatma Ghandi

  1. Julie says:

Great advice Jane. I will remember that when I see my boyfriends beer gut. We both could lose 10 pounds and maybe I just need to quit bugging him about his and work on mine. To a slimmer future!

  2. Jane Savoie says:

    Hi Julie,
I know! It’s a real challenge. But usually when we see something in others that annoys us, it’s usually really about something we don’t like in ourselves!
    Best,
    Jane

    Hi Julie,
I know! It’s a challenge but usually when we see something in others that annoys us, it’s means we’re seeing something we don’t like about ourselves!
    Keep on keeping on!
    Jane
